Online learning vs classroom learning

Introduction. 

         We are in age of the fourth industrial revolution technology. As it transforms major industries, life has become more interconnected, blurring the lines between the personal and professional with a growing number of sectors and companies becoming operationally mobile. The education industry has also slowly but surely attempted to accommodate these shifting demand trends, bringing with unique set of changes. As covid-19 changed the world and the education landscape with it, distance education and online learning became more necessary. Here are few difference between them.

1. Students Teacher Interaction:-

    a) Online Learning:-

            There is lack of human interaction in online learning. Teachers cannot pay individual attention on Students. However online learning is enabling the interaction between students and teachers via various ways like live classes, chatrooms, emails, recorded lectures etc.

b) Classroom Learning:-

           The precise and fluent interaction between teachers and students is very much necessary. If we talk about classroom learning the interaction between them is undoubtedly interactive, engaging and clear. Here students can interact with teachers in real time and can get resolve their queries amd doubts. Teachers can pay individual attention. 

2. More Convenience:-

    a) Online Learning:-

        As far as Convenience is concerned online classes bring grear ease. You can access courses from the comfort of your home. You donot need to panic about travelling to an institute for study. By learning through online means, you get a chance to explore various options.

 b) Classroom Learning:-

        Classroom Learning requires great motivation. You have to travel to a specific place to acquire knowledge. Classroom learning can be less Convenient than online learning. 

3. More Flexibility:-

 a) Online Learning:-

       Online learning has a big plus of Flexibility in Schedule. Mostly the students are facilitated to access recorded lectures if they missed a class.        Studying in classroom it requires poper routine. Students have to be punctual. Their performance is observed. Regular attendance is also necessary. 

4. More Learning Opportunities:-

    a) Online Learning:- 

        Online learning provides more learning opportunities for students. They can access course in any time. Those who are working can adjust their Schedule accordingly. They donot have to panic about balancing studies amd work at same time. 

b) Classroom Learning:-

        The Classroom environment facilitates effective interaction among instructors and learners. Students can ask questions and gain knowledge.

5. Self-Discipline Required:-

    a) Online Learning:-

         In online learning some people may get distracted. If they skip or delay a class due to another commitment, the learning process may get disturbed. 

b) Classroom Learning:-

          Students in Classroom have to follow strict rules. Their performance is being checked properly. They have to fulfill the expectations of the teachers in studies and othe activities. 

6. Technical Issues may occur:-

     a) Online Learning:-

        Online classes are full of technical isuues. With delays in audios and videos. Due to connectivity issues students may get demotivated. They may not pay attention. Various software like Zoom, Google Meet etc is used for online education. 

 b) Classroom Learning:-

         Classroom facilitates a smooth learning experience. Students and teachers engage directly and there are minimal disturbances. There is active assessment and more productivity in terms of learning. 

                        Conclusion. 

          Online learning is great for those who wants to manage studies with work and other life activities. 

       Classroom requires more discipline and active participation. Teacher get greater command over student .
